So, how did we make it into the elite list of programs?
The Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning (CASEL) has been reviewing evidence-based programs since 2003. BASE Education meets CASEL’s SEL-related designation and is included in the CASEL Guide to Effective Social and Emotional Learning Programs as an innovative program on educational practice that is aligned with social and emotional learning and can contribute to systemic SEL implementation at the school or district level.
In the words of CASEL:
We also meet two other important criteria.
- Deliver high-quality training and other implementation supports, including initial training and ongoing support to ensure sound implementation.
- Be evidence-based with at least one carefully conducted evaluation that documents positive impacts on student behavior and/or academic performance.
